Mombasa County Charts New Economic Course
Mombasa County falls short in Agricultural earnings due to limitation of arable land. Agricultural field is limited to few spots only in some areas in Mainland North, Mainland West and Mainland South. There is no land within the Island that is dedicated to agriculture, and as such, potential is mostly seen in the blue economy.

Unveiling the Largest Regional Shipyard
Kenya is moving forward with its plans to harness its ocean resources and build a “blue economy” with the newly commissioned Mombasa Shipyard. The shipyard, the largest in the region, is located at the Kenya Navy Base in Mtongwe; will create many jobs, generate diverse investment opportunities and raise revenue for the country.
Strategy to Catalyze Blue Economy Investments in Kenya
The Mombasa Investment Corporation intends to consolidate bankable projects from the blue economy and develop more costed investment programmes and projects in order to attract investors to the Kenyan blue economy space.
