Administrative Structure

Administratively, the County is divided into six sub-counties namely: Mvita, Nyali, Changamwe, Jomvu, Kisauni, and Likoni, and thirty county assembly wards.
The sub-counties are further subdivided into thirteen (13) divisions, thirty-three (33) locations, and sixty-two (62) sub-locations with area coverage as shown in the table.
Kisauni Sub-County has the highest number of sub-locations (14) covering the largest area of 106.12 km2. Mvita sub-county is second in the number of sub-locations, however, it occupies the least space (14.8 Km2) indicating high population density. This heavily informs prioritization in the County development planning to ensure equality
